Two New Divisions
PT and Intro Test
PT will offer an excellent move-up division for Training-level competitiors bridging the gap to Prelim. Rider will ride Prelim Dressage and Stadium courses and Training Cross-country.
The Intro Test is an unrecognized division that will follow USEF/USEA rules. Competitors will ride a BN Dressage test whiel stadium and XC will be a fun and inviting 2'-2'3".

1. Entries:
Double entries: Not accepted. BN competitors who are
not USEA members must pay extra $25 with entry.
INTRO
Test -
will be run the same as a USEA/USEF horse trial and, unless otherwise
stated, will follow USEF rules. Maximum height in SJ and XC will be
2'3" -- most obstacles will NOT be at max height. Membership in USEA
or USEF not required for horse or rider. No USEA or USEF drug or
starter fees required.
ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE PRINTED AND VALID EMAIL ADDRESS; ALL COMMUNICATION WILL BE VIA EMAIL UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED ON ENTRY Lost pinny fine=$35. $30 fee for returned checks. Entries are considered accepted when all Paperwork/Signatures/ Coggins and fees are received. Refunds: Before C.D.-Entry/Stabling-Less $25 non-refundable office fee; After C.D.-Entry-Less-$25 ONLY if place can be filled from wait list. $30 fee for any change of entry after CD. Scratch/withdrawals accepted via email or fax only with acknowledgment from office – No phone messages will be accepted. Competition cancellation: refunds or in lieu of offers at organizer's discretion. Post entries accepted after Closing Date at Organizer’s discretion and will include $35 late fee. Neg. Coggins within 12 months required for all horses.

2. Tentative Schedule:
Fri: Stables open-Noon. Cross-country course open-3 pm.
Sat: (All P/N) Dressage-8 am; Show Jumping-9:30am; Cross-country-10:30 am.
Sun: (PT/T/BN/Intro) Dressage-8 am; Show Jumping-9:30am; Cross-country-10:30 am.
All times and days tentative and may change depending on number of entries at each level.
3. Awards:
1st place prize & 8 ribbons per division. Additional prizes donated by sponsors and awarded to top placings in each division. See website for details; www.marlboroughhorsetrials.org.
4. Starting Times:
Start times available on the web site after 5PM on 14 September. No phone calls please. All entries and scores will be available via our website, www.marlboroughhorsetrials.org
5. Stabling/Veterinarian:
Hidden Spring Stables. 6005 McKendree Rd., Lothian, MD 20711, (410) 867-3933, approx. 8 miles from event (off of Route 4). $40/stall/night. Perm stalls. Stall doors & initial bedding, full service barn (Indoor arena) only provided. Veterinarian: on site and phone number will be posted at sec'ys office.
6. Accommodations:
Closest accommodations to the event are: Sleep Inn, Upper Marlboro, (301) 599-9400 and Executive Inn & Suites, Upper Marlboro, (301) 627-3969. Additional accommodations in Clinton, MD Colony South Hotel (301) 856-4500 or in Bowie, MD Comfort Inn-15 mi., (301) 464-0089. Check website for additional accommodations, www.marlboroughhorse.org.
7. Directions:
Address: Rosaryville State Park, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Park entrance is on Marlton Road West, off Rt. 301 South.
From South: I-95 to MD, Rt. 4 east to US Rt. 301 south 4 miles to Rosaryville State Park on the right.
From North: I-97 to MD Rt 3 south becomes MD Rt 301 south. Same as above.
8. Dressage:
Test & arena sizes: P-2010 USEF Preliminary Test B-Sm; T-2010 USEF Training Test B-Sm; N-2010 USEF Novice Test B-Sm; BN-2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test B-Sm; Intro- 2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test B-Sm. Arenas: Grass.
9. Cross-Country:
P-2700 m @ 520 mpm, good, confidence building course. T-2400 m @ 450 mpm, solid course for level; N-2100 m @ 400 mpm; average for horses with some experience. BN- 1900 m @ 350 mpm; average for horses with some experience. INTRO- 1500 m @275 mpm; easy and fun introduction to eventing. All courses: Varied terrain with woods; gently rolling terrain with excellent galloping tracks. Expect water, banks and ditches at all levels, except Intro. Intro: water, bank, and ditch optional. Inviting spectator venue.

Dogs must be leashed with person attached! A $25 fine will be collected and donated to the MHT Course Bldg. Fund for all loose dogs.
No water on grounds - Please Bring own water!
$30 fee for non-competing horses on the grounds. Non competing horses will not be allowed in warm up areas.
Full-day volunteers will enjoy a free cross-country schooling. Email mhtvolunteer@gmail.com for more information and to sign up.
Cross-country closed except for schooling day on Tues. Sept 20, 8 am-6 pm. Entry gate closes at 5 pm. Check the web site before coming to check state of course if weather is questionable: www.marlboroughhorsetrials.org. Safety vests, proper footwear and helmet must be worn. No vest, no helmet--no school. Grounds person on foot, must accompany single riders.
